2008 Beijing Olympics Results: Women’s Basketball From Aug. 9
The 2008 Beijing Olympics featured women’s basketball on Saturday as eight country’s took to the court for the first time at the Games.
In Group A play South Korea edged Brazil 68-62 while Russia beat Latvia 62-57 in Saturday’s games. Russia and South Korea are joined by Australia atop the group.
In Group B play the United States pounded the Czech Republic 97-57 while host country China got past Spain 67-64. The United States and China share the top spot with New Zealand.
