2008 Beijing Olympics Results: Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka Earn Gold in Men’s Doubles Tennis

After falling out of the men’s singles competition Roger Federer could only hope his doubles partner, Stanislas Wawrinka, would aid him in capturing his first gold medal and on Saturday the long wait ended as the pair from Switzerland beat Simon Aspelin and Thomas Johansson of Sweden 6-3 6-4 6-7 6-3 in the finals.

Johansson and Aspelin settled for silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The American team of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan knocked off Michael Llodra and Arnaud Clement 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday.
