Jason qualifies for the Olympics 100m butterfly finals

For the first time a Kenyan has qualified for swimming finals in Olympics besides setting an Olympic record in Beijing China.

The 22 year-old Jason Dunford on Friday faced off with the World's best, American Michael Phelps among others.

He held on to finish third behind Micheal Phelps and Australian Andrew Lauterstein.

He timed at 51.33 to finish fifth overall thus qualifying for Saturdays final at the National Aquatics center in Beijing.

Phelps clocked 50.97 and Australian Lauterstein 51.27.

On Thursday, Jason set a new Olympic record of 51.14.

However; Jason's record did not last long after Milorad Cavic from Serbia broke the record posting a new time of 50.76 seconds in the last heat of the event. Jason will start second in the final.
